Dutch residents frequently delay central heating boiler maintenance

Research conducted by Multiscope for Hoppenbrouwers reveals that many Dutch residents postpone maintenance for their central heating boilers. Approximately 12% of people do not plan regular maintenance, while 6% never have their boilers serviced at all. Additionally, 15% of respondents wait until a malfunction occurs before seeking service, a figure that rises to 25% among younger demographics.

To address this, Hoppenbrouwers has launched the first ‘Boiler APK weeks’ to encourage households to inspect their installations before winter. Experts note that delaying maintenance can lead to increased gas consumption, higher repair costs, and shorter equipment lifespans. Timely inspections in the autumn are recommended to avoid long waiting times for technicians when demand spikes during colder months.
