Dutch libraries host activities for Children's Book Week 2026

Libraries across the Netherlands are hosting various activities for the 2026 Children's Book Week, centered around the theme ‘Spot aan!’ (Spotlight On!). The event encourages children to engage with storytelling through performances, workshops, and creative exercises.

In the Vught region, Huis73 libraries are organizing a month-long program including music workshops, musical storytelling sessions, and creative workshops for children up to age 14. Activities include a musical performance by Annet Schaap and Frederike de Winter, a creative workshop for making glowing artworks, and a Halloween-themed story session. Other participating libraries in the Huis73 network include Boxtel, Rosmalen, Den Bosch, Berlicum, and Sint-Michielsgestel.

In the Eemsdelta region of Groningen, libraries are hosting a diverse program from late September through mid-October. Scheduled events include a magic show by magician Tim Wijst in Delfzijl, a musical theater performance by Theater Pannekoek in Loppersum, and a mask-making workshop with the Maskermeiden in Appingedam.
