Dutch marathons see high participation and record-breaking international interest

Major running events are taking place in the Netherlands. The 51st edition of the Amsterdam Marathon has set a new record with participants from 161 different countries, surpassing the previous 2019 record of 147 countries. Approximately 32,000 runners are participating in the full marathon and 15,000 in the half marathon. Race director René Wit noted that active recruitment at international events contributed to this diverse field.

In Drenthe, the TT Marathon is also seeing significant interest. Following the success of its inaugural event, organizers have expanded the program to accommodate 275 additional participants for the half marathon due to high demand. The event, which features a start at the TT Circuit and a finish in Assen, expects a total of 3,000 participants this year.
