Dutch municipalities inaugurate new officials in Zaltbommel and Berkelland

On 4 June 2026 Hein de Kort was sworn in as wethouder (alderman) of Zaltbommel after ten years on the municipal council. He will oversee the social domain, including support, participation, care, opportunities and local projects such as Pand 9 and the Sint Maartenskerk.

On 4 July 2026 Joost van Oostrum took his oath for a third six‑year term as mayor of Berkelland, following a royal decree issued on 18 May 2026. The council praised his visibility, approachability and continuity as the municipality confronts a range of societal challenges.
