Dutch municipalities Zoetermeer and Krimpenerwaard scrutinise new coalition agreements

In Zoetermeer, the PVV criticised the coalition pact with the VVD, D66 and CDA for vague goals, limited concrete housing targets and unclear financing, warning that safety and asylum‑related provisions remain insufficiently defined.

In the neighbouring municipality of Krimpenerwaard, Pro Krimpenerwaard urged the council to reject the new ‘Ruimte voor elkaar’ agreement without a vote, citing concerns over the lack of measurable results for housing, biodiversity, animal welfare and the handling of Sunday events advocated by the SGP.

Both parties call for clearer accountability and concrete outcomes from their respective local governments.
