Dutch national arrested at Turkish border after vehicle assault in Edirne

A Dutch national, identified as O. N., was apprehended at the Hamzabeyli Border Gate while attempting to flee to Bulgaria following a violent incident in Edirne, Turkey.

The incident occurred at a rest area on the Edirne-Lalapaşa road. Following a dispute with a market employee, O. N. reportedly drove a vehicle into two individuals, identified as İ. İ. and E. A. The facility manager, Recep Erdoğan, alleged that the driver intentionally targeted the individuals.

The two victims were transported to Trakya University Faculty of Medicine Hospital for treatment. Security footage captured the moment the vehicle struck the victims. Law enforcement detained the suspect at the border crossing as he attempted to exit the country.
