Dutch Parliamentary Committee holds COVID-19 inquiry hearings
The Dutch Parliamentary Inquiry Committee Corona is conducting public hearings to investigate the government's handling of the COVID-19 crisis. The current phase of hearings includes testimony from Carola Schouten, the former Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport and former Deputy Prime Minister, as well as Kees van der Staaij, who served as a Member of Parliament for the SGP during the pandemic.
The committee, chaired by Daan de Kort, is exploring themes of reflection and looking forward, specifically focusing on governance during a pandemic. This inquiry is part of a larger series of 51 planned hearings involving 47 witnesses to evaluate the national response to the health crisis.
