Dutch police investigate Deurne robbery attempt and Waalwijk theft arrests
In Deurne, police are searching for witnesses following an attempted home robbery on Stijn Streuvelslaan. The incident occurred around 9:30 PM last Monday when a suspect, posing as a delivery person wearing a white full-face helmet and an orange Thuisbezorgd jacket, attempted to enter a residence. The 80-year-old occupant resisted the attacker, who struck him with a suspected metal object, causing minor injuries to his head and arm. The perpetrator fled toward Molenstraat without obtaining any property.
Separately, in Waalwijk, authorities arrested two men, aged 32 and 37, on suspicion of receiving stolen goods. During a police check on Heulstraat, officers discovered burglary tools, two suspected stolen fatbikes, and a large collection of bicycle keys of various brands. One of the fatbikes has been returned to its owner in Den Bosch, and detectives are continuing to investigate the origin of the keys and the suspects' potential involvement in other crimes.
