Dutch political parties launch ideologically driven primary schools
Political parties in the Netherlands are launching their own primary schools to instill specific ideological values in young children.
In Almere, the Renaissanceschool has opened its doors. Funded by the state through the Tocqueville Foundation, the school emphasizes the values of the Classical Antiquity, the Middle Ages, and the early modern era. Its curriculum focuses on a ‘Old European World’ view, including Latin, classical music, and European history, while intentionally limiting modern technology like Wi-Fi and computers. The school’s philosophy stands in opposition to modern concepts such as ‘climate fanaticism’ and mass immigration.
Similarly, the 50PLUS party has launched the Krolschool in Waalwijk. Party leader Jan Struijs stated the school aims to train specialists who can promote 50PLUS ideology in the future. The curriculum includes practical math based on pension (AOW) examples and media sessions featuring vintage Dutch television. State Secretary for Education, Culture, and Science Judith Tielen expressed concern regarding the potential indoctrination of four-year-old students with specific party ideologies.
