Dutch poll shows low support for government Israel-Palestine policy

A recent opinion poll conducted by Motivaction for several organizations, including PAX, Amnesty International, and Oxfam Novib, indicates widespread dissatisfaction with the Dutch government's Israel-Palestine policy. Only 11 percent of the Dutch population supports the current government's approach, while 42 percent believe the government should provide less support to Israel.

The survey reveals significant views on the conflict: 52 percent of respondents believe Israel is committing or has committed genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, and 52 percent view the situation in Israel and the Palestinian territories as apartheid.

There is also notable support for economic measures. Approximately 55 percent of those surveyed believe trade with illegal Israeli settlements should be banned, and 45 percent support a broader prohibition on economic ties, including exports, investments, and services related to the settlements. This contrasts with current government policy, which focuses primarily on banning imports from these areas.
