Dutch rescue dogs deployed to search for missing Rodney Leysner in Suriname

Specialized rescue dogs from the Netherlands are being deployed to Suriname to assist in the search for missing film producer Rodney Leysner. The Public Prosecutor's Office has granted permission for the operation, which will be conducted under the supervision of the Korps Politie Suriname (KPS).

The deployment involves a team from the Stichting Reddingshonden RHWW, consisting of eight dogs, eight handlers, and seven support specialists. The team is trained in land, water, and rubble search disciplines. This expertise is particularly relevant as Leysner's burnt-out vehicle was discovered in a swamp in the Saramacca district.

While initial reports indicated the Leysner family might bear the costs, Rudisa International N. V. has confirmed it will fund the operation. The company, for which Leysner was contracted, is covering the estimated 50,000 euro cost, including travel, accommodation, and equipment. Leysner has been missing since August 15.
