Dutch riders find success at EURO MOTO Assen
The EURO MOTO racing weekend at the TT Circuit Assen saw significant success for Dutch riders across multiple classes. In the Sportbike category, Ruben Bijman secured a victory in Race 1 in front of his home crowd. Guest starter Jeffrey Buis, competing while his primary championship is on summer break, delivered a spectacular performance; after starting from the back due to qualification issues, he led the race after the first lap but ultimately narrowly missed the win by 0.035 seconds.
In the Superbike class, Twan Smits claimed his first pole position by narrowly beating defending champion Lukas Tulovic in the Superpole session. Other notable winners in Race 1 included Ricardo Brink in the Pro Superstock Cup and Timo Kubbinga in the Kawasaki ZX4-RR Cup.
In team news, the ERC Kawasaki team has officially withdrawn from the remainder of the EURO MOTO season following the disqualification of riders Jules Bercot and Sasha de Vits after the Oschersleben event.
