Dutch rowers prepare for World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam

Dutch rowers Karolien Florijn and Margot Leeuwenburgh are preparing to compete in the World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam starting August 24.

Florijn, the reigning Olympic champion, is making a high-profile return to international competition following a period focused on her law studies and recovery from a back injury. Her recent comeback attempt in Sevilla was interrupted when her skiff capsized due to a technical issue and a wave.

Leeuwenburgh, a late bloomer in the sport, aims to defend her world title in the women's quadruple sculls alongside teammates Tessa Dullemans, Lisa Bruijnincx, and Marieke Keijser. After joining TeamNL in 2025, Leeuwenburgh previously secured bronze at the European Championships and gold at the World Championships in Shanghai.
