Dutch Royals resume official duties with sustainable agriculture and museum visits
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands have resumed their official duties following the summer holidays.
During a working visit to the Achterhoek region on September 3, Queen Máxima visited hemp growers to learn about biobased construction and the use of renewable materials for sustainable building. The Queen participated in the harvesting process by helping press hemp fiber into bales and demonstrated previous experience by driving a tractor across the field.
In Eindhoven, King Willem-Alexander inaugurated the Museumpark VONK, an institution showcasing over 10,000 years of regional history, craftsmanship, and innovation. During the event, the King also paid tribute to the late King Harald V of Norway.
