Dutch state pension information sessions announced for Poles
The number of Polish citizens receiving the Dutch state pension (AOW) has seen significant growth, increasing from 2,057 recipients in 2020 to an estimated 6,152 by 2026. Despite this trend, the Sociale Verzekeringsbank (SVB) notes that many individuals who previously lived or worked legally in the Netherlands remain unaware of their rights to these benefits.
To address this, the SVB, in collaboration with the Polish Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Warsaw, is organizing a series of free information sessions titled ‘Information Days for Poles who lived or worked in the Netherlands’. These sessions aim to educate citizens on how to qualify for AOW benefits, how to submit applications, and the tax implications of foreign pensions.
The scheduled meetings will take place in Warsaw on October 20, 2026, at the Dutch Embassy, and in Opole on October 22, 2026. Experts from SVB, ZUS, and the Tax Administration Chamber in Warsaw will be available to answer questions in Polish, English, or Dutch, with Polish translation provided.
