Dutch theater scene announces new musicals and literary performances

Several new theatrical and musical productions are scheduled across the Netherlands.

In Heythuysen, the Vespucci Kwartet and narrator Sieger Sloot will perform ‘Hondenhart’ at De Bombardon on October 9. This production blends music by Prokofjev, Shostakovich, and Weinberg with fragments from Mikhail Bulgakov’s satirical story about a professor’s scientific experiment.

For families, the musical adaptation of ‘The Little Prince’ by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry is set to premiere on October 4 at De Goudse Schouwburg, featuring Juliëtte van Tongeren and René van Kooten. Additionally, the children’s characters ‘Vos en Haas’ will appear in a musical at Theater De Willem on October 4, 2026.

In the cabaret musical genre, ‘We Zijn Toch Familie’ is currently touring Dutch theaters, with an official premiere at the Oude Luxor Theater in Rotterdam on October 7, 2026. The production follows the Polman family during a weekend trip to the Veluwe.
