Dutch towns increase subsidies for home insulation

The municipality of Moerdijk announced an additional €2.4 million for its home‑insulation subsidy, raising the total pool to €3.5 million. The funds, provided by the national government, extend the programme until 2028 and are aimed at owners of pre‑1993 owner‑occupied houses with low energy labels, offering up to €1,000 per measure and extra support for biobased materials.

Medemblik has published detailed rules for its own insulation subsidy scheme, defining eligible applicants, qualifying buildings, and the types of insulation measures covered. The programme targets owner‑occupied dwellings with energy‑label classes D to G or those with at least two poorly insulated building elements. Subsidies are administered through a designated platform and a certified insulation contractor.

Both municipalities are part of a broader Dutch effort to improve residential energy efficiency, lower household energy bills, and reduce overall energy consumption.
