Dutch towns move forward with Dorpsplein and Everdingen housing plans

The municipal council approved the Vision Dorpsplein and surrounding area on 14 April 2025. On 7 July 2026 the council chose to start a partner‑selection process to develop a single, comprehensive plan for the whole district, covering parking, social rental housing, green space and other facilities. The municipality aims to sign an agreement with the selected partner by summer 2027.

In the neighbouring municipality of Vijfheerenlanden, the council and developers Bladt Wonen and RV&O B.V. signed an anteriore agreement on 13 July 2026 for the Graaf Floriskwartier project in Everdingen. The plan adds 24 new homes – ten apartments, ten single‑family houses and four semi‑detached houses – with at least half offered as affordable housing. An information meeting in October 2025 introduced the first designs, and a formal environmental‑permit application will follow soon. "Met Graaf Floriskwartier zetten we een mooie stap in het uitbreiden van het woningaanbod in onze gemeente," said local alderman Joop van Montfoort.
