Dutch universities announce Master’s scholarships for 2027

Several Dutch universities have announced scholarship opportunities for international students pursuing Master’s degrees for the 2027 academic cycle.

Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) will open applications for its scholarship programs on 1 November 2026. These opportunities, aimed primarily at non-EU/EEA students, include the merit-based VU Fellowship Programme (VUFP), which offers tuition fee waivers, and the NL Scholarship, which provides support for living costs. The NL Scholarship is supported by VUvereniging.

Maastricht University is offering the NL-High Potential Scholarship for the 2027-2028 academic year. This program provides 18 fully funded scholarships that include tuition fee waivers and monthly stipends for exceptionally talented students from outside the EU. The funding is derived from the Maastricht University Scholarship Fund and the NL Scholarship, the latter of which is supported by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science.
