Dutch‑German border police seize firearms, drugs and stolen car near Venlo

The cross‑border police unit (GPT) Kaldenkirchen–Venlo, comprising the Dutch Royal Marechaussee, Limburg police, the German Bundespolizei and North‑Rhine Westphalia state police, conducted two checks on the A73 near Venlo. In the first stop a Toyota C‑HR with falsified Belarusian plates was found to have stolen‑vehicle documents; the driver was arrested. A second check later that day uncovered two firearms and a large quantity of hard drugs in a vehicle with a Dutch plate, leading to the arrest of its occupants. All three suspects are being investigated by the Limburg public prosecutor.

The operation highlights joint efforts to combat trans‑national criminal activity such as vehicle theft, document fraud, weapon trafficking and drug smuggling along the Dutch‑German border.
