Dutton Ranch secures second season and appoints new showrunner
Paramount+ confirmed that the Yellowstone spin‑off Dutton Ranch will return for a second season. The first season, which premiered in May, became one of the platform’s biggest original launches, drawing over 12 million viewers worldwide and achieving the strongest basic‑cable debut in three years.
Ahead of the season‑2 rollout, the series announced a leadership change: veteran producer Benjamin Cavell, known for SEAL Team and Justified, will replace Chad Feehan as showrunner. Cavell will continue to work with series stars Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, who reprise Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler. The shift follows Feehan’s departure after the first season and is described as a routine transition in television production. The new season is expected in the summer or fall of 2027, with no major cast alterations reported.
The renewal and creative change position Dutton Ranch as a flagship drama for Paramount+, building on the success of its parent series Yellowstone.
