İzmir Metropolitan Municipality launches Yakınımda app

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality has launched 'Yakınımda', a new location-based mobile application designed to facilitate urban life. Developed by the municipality's Geographic Information Systems Branch Directorate, the app provides users with quick access to approximately 10,000 points of interest based on their current location.

Key features include the ability to locate the ten nearest pharmacies on duty, hospitals, schools, parks, and museums. The application also offers transportation data, such as the nearest bus stops, ferry piers, metro, tram, and taxi stands, including contact information for taxi services.

In addition to daily services, the app serves a critical role in emergency management by identifying the nearest disaster assembly areas and providing their capacity details. The platform also includes a digital historical feature, allowing users to view 360-degree panoramic images and historical photographs of the city's past.
