Đỗ Duy Mạnh returns to Vietnam after knee surgery in US

Vietnamese defender Đỗ Duy Mạnh has returned to Vietnam following successful meniscus surgery in the United States. He arrived on September 23 accompanied by his wife, Nguyễn Quỳnh Anh.

Due to his injury, Duy Mạnh is currently using a wheelchair. Medical experts estimate that a full recovery will take between six to nine months. This recovery timeline suggests he will likely miss a significant portion of the 2026/2027 season and the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup with the Vietnam national team.

This is not the first major injury for the defender, who previously underwent surgery for a torn anterior cruciate ligament in Singapore in 2020.
