Đỗ Duy Mạnh returns to Vietnam following surgery in the US
Vietnamese defender Đỗ Duy Mạnh has returned to Vietnam to begin his recovery following a successful surgery in the United States. On September 26, Nguyễn Văn Phú, General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), visited Duy Mạnh at his residence in Hanoi to offer encouragement on behalf of VFF leadership.
Duy Mạnh, a player for Hanoi FC, has been sidelined since late April due to a recurring injury. Although he was initially included in the training list for the ASEAN Cup 2026 preparations in South Korea, his physical condition prevented him from participating. Following his surgery in early September, medical experts estimate he will require six to nine months of rehabilitation before returning to professional competition.
