Dôvera launches AI advisor for hypertension patients
The Slovak private health insurance company Dôvera has launched a digital AI advisor named Soňa to assist patients managing hypertension. The service is designed to support over 350,000 policyholders who suffer from high blood pressure without other major underlying conditions.
Hypertension is a leading risk factor for heart attacks, heart failure, and strokes. The AI advisor aims to help patients manage daily lifestyle decisions, such as medication adherence, regular blood pressure monitoring, physical activity, diet, and stress management. The tool is intended to act as a guide between doctor visits rather than a replacement for medical professionals; if a user asks a question that requires a physician, the AI will recommend a consultation with their doctor.
To ensure medical accuracy, the content was developed with the involvement of Professor Eva Goncalvesová, head of the Cardiology Clinic at the Comenius University and the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases. The AI uses verified sources and is restricted from pulling unverified information from the broader internet. Users can interact with the advisor through both text and voice communication.
