Dwayne Johnson is exploring a formal music career with the release of his new song, ‘Your Dad’. The track is a ballad dedicated to his three daughters and is featured on the album ‘Moana: Voices Across the Ocean’, which accompanies the live-action version of the Disney film.

Johnson co-wrote the song alongside American Idol 2023 winner Iam Tongi. While the original concept by Tongi focused on the loss of a father, Johnson adapted the lyrics to reflect his own experiences with fatherhood. Johnson served as executive producer for the album alongside his wife, Lauren Hashian.

The actor expressed interest in a musical direction that blends traditional country with classic soul, citing influences such as Willie Nelson, Sam Cooke, and Elvis Presley. This move follows his previous musical success with the song ‘You’re Welcome’ from the original Moana soundtrack.
