Dwayne Johnson releases new song ‘Your Dad’ for Moana remake

Dwayne Johnson has released a new song titled ‘Your Dad’ as part of the promotional campaign for the live-action Moana remake. The track is featured on the album ‘Moana: Voices Across The Ocean’, a collection of music inspired by the film.

Co-written with 2023 American Idol winner Iam Tongi, the song serves as a tribute to Johnson’s three daughters: Simone, Jasmine, and Tiana. The lyrics offer supportive messages regarding strength and perseverance, referencing themes from the Moana story.

Johnson noted that the song is deeply personal, reflecting on his own complicated relationship with his late father, professional wrestler Rocky Johnson. He expressed that while his father taught him the value of hard work, the song allows him to provide a different kind of emotional support to his own children than he may have received growing up.
