Hollywood star Dwayne Johnson, known as “The Rock,” arrived in Tokyo on 20 July with actress Catherine Langaiya for the Japan premiere of the live‑action film *Moana and the Legend of the Sea*. The event, titled “Moana Summer Festival – Blue Carpet,” was held at Ebisu Garden Place and marked Johnson’s first visit to Japan in 12 years since promoting *Hercules*.
Fans responded with enthusiastic cheers, hand‑signs and many were moved to tears by the extensive fan service, including photo opportunities and autograph sessions. The outdoor ceremony took place during a record‑breaking heat wave, with Tokyo recording its first 35 °C+ day of the year. Japanese voice actors TSUZUMI (the Japanese voice of Moana) and Onoe Matsuya (Japanese voice of Maui) also performed, with TSUZUMI discussing her preparation for the role.
