Dwayne Quamina, former Mr. Olympia competitor, dies at 40

Former Mr. Olympia competitor and Navy veteran Dwayne ‘King Q’ Quamina has died suddenly at the age of 40. The Trinidad and Tobago native, who resided in California, passed away on Sunday, shortly after competing in the Atlanta Pro event where he placed sixth in the 212-pound division.

A cause of death has not yet been disclosed. Quamina’s death follows a recent social media post in which he urged his followers to ‘stop taking life for granted’ and to live without regrets.

Quamina served in the Navy for over a decade before transitioning to professional bodybuilding in 2016. His career highlights include winning the lightweight title at the 2016 NPC USA Championships and the 2017 Europa Phoenix Pro event, as well as placing 10th at the 2018 Mr. Olympia tournament. He was also a prominent online coach with approximately 100,000 social media followers.
