Dwayne Quamina, former Mr. Olympia top-10 bodybuilder, dies at 40

American professional bodybuilder Dwayne Quamina, widely known as ‘King Q’, has died at the age of 40. His death was confirmed by his wife, Leah Jerez, via social media. The cause of death has not yet been disclosed.

Quamina’s passing comes just one week after his final competitive appearance at the Legends Murray Atlanta Pro Supershow in Georgia, where he placed sixth in the 212-pound category. He had recently returned to professional competition in 2025 after a five-year hiatus from the sport.

A former member of the United States Navy for over a decade, Quamina achieved his career peak in 2018 when he placed tenth in the 212 category at the Mr. Olympia in Las Vegas. His professional career included victories at the USA Championships and the Europa Phoenix Pro. In addition to bodybuilding, he worked as a certified personal trainer, nutrition coach, and filmmaker.
