DWP issues early payment warning for pensioners due to bank holiday

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has issued a warning to pensioners and benefit recipients that payments may arrive early this week due to the upcoming August bank holiday on Monday, August 31.

Because the bank holiday prevents payments from being processed on Monday, those due to receive funds on that day will instead receive them on Friday, August 28. This adjustment affects various benefits, including State Pensions, Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Attendance Allowance, and Carer’s Allowance.

Minister for Social Security and Disability Sir Stephen Timms stated that the early payments are intended to ensure families and older people receive their money without disruption during the holiday period.
