DXN secures $4.1M edge data centre contract for Melbourne Airport
DXN Limited has secured an approximately $4.1 million contract from Australia Pacific Airports Melbourne (APAM), the operator of Melbourne Airport, to provide a prefabricated edge data centre facility. The project is part of APAM’s Airport Development Plan, Information, and Communication Technology enabling works program.
DXN will be responsible for the design, engineering, manufacturing, testing, delivery, and installation of the complete facility. The infrastructure will include critical power, cooling, fire detection, and suppression systems. By utilizing a factory-built model, DXN aims to reduce on-site construction risks and significantly shorten delivery timelines compared to traditional multi-year upgrades.
Scheduled for site acceptance testing and commissioning toward the end of the first half of 2027, the facility is intended to support latency-sensitive and safety-critical digital systems required for modern aviation and freight operations. This contract marks an expansion of DXN’s footprint into the aviation and transport infrastructure sectors.
