Dyfed-Powys Police officer dismissed for gross misconduct
PC Rhodri Davies has been dismissed from the Dyfed-Powys Police with immediate effect following a public misconduct hearing. The hearing, chaired by Ian Arundale, found that Davies engaged in gross misconduct involving several breaches of professional standards, including honesty, integrity, confidentiality, and equality and diversity.
Allegations against Davies, who was based in Llanelli, included pursuing a sexual and emotional relationship with a serving officer whom he suspected was a victim of domestic abuse. It was further alleged that this officer was subjected to unwanted sexualised conduct.
Additional findings concerned Davies’ conduct during a witness statement process in October 2023. He was accused of making inappropriate comments and saving a witness’s mobile number on his personal device to pursue a relationship.
As a result of the ruling, Davies will be added to the College of Policing Barred List, preventing him from re-entering the police service. Deputy Chief Constable Gemma Morris stated that the officer’s behaviour was ‘wholly unacceptable’ and reaffirmed the force’s commitment to high professional standards.
