Dylan Cease records sixth consecutive 200-strikeout season
Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Dylan Cease has recorded at least 200 strikeouts in his sixth consecutive season. He reached the milestone during a game against the New York Yankees, becoming the first pitcher in the American League to achieve this feat during the 2026 season.
Cease is the first pitcher since Max Scherzer (2017–2018) and Chris Sale (2017–2018) to record 200 or more strikeouts in six straight seasons. This performance follows a major seven-year, $210 million contract signed with Toronto. Despite a 4–3 loss to the Yankees in extra innings, Cease remains a top contender for the Cy Young Award and leads the American League in strikeouts.
