Dylan Sprouse compares early acting career to child labor

Actor Dylan Sprouse has compared his early career in the entertainment industry to “child labor.” Speaking on the Wildmen podcast with co-host Brendan Columbus, the 34-year-old actor discussed the lasting psychological effects of growing up in the spotlight.

Sprouse, known for his roles in “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” and “Grace Under Fire,” noted that while child actors do not work in coal mines, the intense professional routine and its impact on self-esteem constitute a form of child labor. He shared these reflections alongside guest Mark Indelicato, who also rose to fame as a child actor on “Ugly Betty.”

Sprouse described the experience as a “workaholic attitude” and a demanding “day job” that left a void once the routine ended. He also mentioned facing ongoing “mental hurdles” as an adult working within the same industry. Sprouse is currently expecting his first child with wife Barbara Palvin.
