Dyna Robotics unveils Taku humanoid robot for commercial chores
Redwood City-based Dyna Robotics has unveiled Taku, a humanoid robot designed to perform repetitive, end-to-end workflows in commercial and household environments. Unlike many robots that require constant human supervision, Taku is described by CEO Lindon Gao as a “full-stack physical agent” capable of completing tasks from start to finish without intervention.
Designed for use in hotels, restaurants, and warehouses, Taku can perform various chores including loading washing machines, folding towels, chopping vegetables, and restocking shelves. The robot features a human-like upper body with two arms, each offering seven degrees of freedom, and a folding lower body to reach different heights.
To ensure stability and practical movement in human-centric spaces, the robot utilizes four steerable wheels rather than a bipedal walking mechanism. The machine is roughly the height of an average adult and is engineered to move at speeds comparable to human workers to maintain operational efficiency.
