Dynamic Map Platform 3D platform adopted for accident investigation
Dynamic Map Platform has announced that its comprehensive 3D spatial platform, 3Dmapspocket, has been adopted by Tokio Marine & Nichido Research Service to support traffic accident investigations.
The platform integrates 3D point cloud data from highways and major arterial roads with Google Photorealistic 3D Tiles. This allows investigators to perform measurements, analysis, and spatial verification directly in a web browser. By using the tool to confirm site conditions remotely, the company aims to improve the efficiency of field visits, reduce the workload on investigators, and enhance safety.
Additionally, the technology enables high-precision reconstruction of accident scenes. Users can place vehicle models within the 3D space to visually share information, facilitating consensus and unified understanding among involved parties. The platform is particularly useful for environments where physical access is difficult, such as highways, by allowing for the precise measurement of distances and gradients.
