Dynamo Dresden restricts commercial vlogging at stadiums
German football club Dynamo Dresden has announced new restrictions targeting influencers, YouTubers, and content creators to prevent the commercial exploitation of match-day footage. In a joint statement with organized fan groups titled ‘Vloggen? Nicht bei Dynamo’ (Vlogging? Not at Dynamo), the club clarified that filming match highlights or stadium visits for profit is prohibited under stadium regulations.
The measure specifically targets ‘stadium vlogs’—extensive recordings uploaded to platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram that generate revenue through advertisements, sponsorships, and partnerships. The club stated the decision is necessary to protect the broadcasting and commercial rights held by the club, organizing authorities, and television providers.
This is not a total ban on social media use; fans are still permitted to take photographs or record short videos of their personal experiences. However, the club maintains that when creators monetize match footage, they are profiting from commercial products for which other organizations have paid significant fees, while the club receives no financial compensation.
