Dynamo Moscow CEO plans roster around Alex Ovechkin return

Anatoly Kharchuk, the CEO of Dynamo Moscow, has expressed his intention to build a Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) team around Alex Ovechkin should the forward return to the club to finish his career.

Kharchuk, who previously served as the club's president during Ovechkin’s early career, recently met with the Washington Capitals captain to discuss the possibility of a homecoming. Kharchuk stated that he intends to ensure the club is prepared for Ovechkin’s return, noting that the team would be built around such an extraordinary individual.

Ovechkin has previously indicated that he may retire with his childhood club in Moscow. While he recently signed a one-year extension with the Washington Capitals, his long-term plans beyond the 2026-27 NHL season remain undecided.
