The rivalry between characters Alexis Carrington Colby and Krystle Carrington in the 1980s television series ‘Dynasty’ became a defining element of the show. The physical confrontations between actresses Joan Collins and Linda Evans were designed to capitalize on the popularity of women's wrestling trends in the United States during that era.

Producers, including Aaron Spelling, aimed to elevate the raw concept of wrestling by placing it within a high-production setting characterized by luxury, high fashion, and extreme wealth. This approach transformed the character conflicts into major television spectacles that drew millions of viewers worldwide.
