DYPA opens 2026 seasonal allowance applications in Greece

The Greek Public Employment Service (DYPA) has opened the application process for the 2026 special seasonal allowance. Applications can be submitted electronically via the gov.gr platform using Taxisnet credentials, with physical submissions at KEP centers becoming available from September 23. The deadline for all applications is November 30, 2026.

The allowance is specifically targeted at seasonal workers meeting certain insurance requirements from the previous year (2025), rather than the general unemployed population. Eligible professions include workers in tourism and catering, construction workers, actors, dancers, audiovisual technicians, shipyard workers, forest workers, and tobacco workers. Approximately 80,000 citizens are expected to receive support.

Benefit amounts range from 719 to 1,438 euros. For example, construction workers may receive 1,064.12 euros, while forest workers are eligible for 1,006.60 euros. Tourism and catering employees require at least 75 days of insurance in the previous year to qualify for 719 euros. Payments are distributed via prepaid cards, allowing for a 50% cash withdrawal with the remainder reserved for electronic purchases.
