Dyson unveils Nurovi robot vacuum line with UV stain detection

Dyson has unveiled its new Nurovi line of robot vacuums, headlined by the R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV. This model utilizes ultraviolet (UV) LED technology combined with green light illumination and artificial intelligence to detect and identify nearly 200 types of household substances, including dried pet urine, milk, and alcohol. Once a stain is located via fluorescence, the robot employs a wet roller supplied with 70°C water to wash the area.

The R3 Nurovi features a 30,000 Pa motor and a ‘twin-capture’ system designed to separate fine and coarse debris. The device is designed to clean up to 1.6 inches beyond its exterior case to reach room edges. Following its unveiling at IFA, the R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV is scheduled for release in the United States on September 15 at a price of $1,199.

Dyson also introduced other models in the series, including the Costco-exclusive R2 Nurovi Wash+Dry ($699) and the R1 Nurovi Dry ($549).
