DZ Bank launches meinKrypto trading platform for cooperative banks

DZ Bank has launched meinKrypto, a cryptocurrency trading platform integrated into the VR Banking App for German cooperative banks. While the service is licensed under the EU’s MiCA regulation and authorized by BaFin, its availability depends on individual local institutions.

A survey of 14 cooperative banks found that only four had publicly accessible pages for crypto trading, with three promoting the meinKrypto service. The platform operates through a division of labor: DZ Bank serves as the licensed provider, EUWAX AG handles order execution, and Börse Stuttgart Digital Custody GmbH manages custody. Local Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken act as distribution channels, allowing customers to settle trades through their existing accounts. The platform supports assets including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and Cardano.
