Dzavari Parker discusses turbulent departure from Partizan Belgrade
American forward Dzavari Parker has spoken out regarding his departure from the Serbian basketball club Partizan Belgrade, describing his final months in Belgrade as a “very dark” period. Following a mutual agreement to terminate his contract on October 23, Parker detailed several incidents that occurred during his tenure.
Parker highlighted the resignation of coach Zeljko Obradovic as a critical turning point, stating that “everything started to collapse” after the leader left the team. He also addressed a security incident in which approximately 2,000 fans allegedly stormed the team’s training facilities with bricks. Parker expressed suspicion regarding the leak of the team’s training schedule, noting that the session had been moved from the morning to 18:00, allowing unauthorized individuals to know exactly when the players would be present.
Additionally, Parker touched upon disputes with Joan Peñarrosa concerning his physical condition. Despite the difficulties, Parker stated he views the experience as an opportunity for personal growth.
