Düzce aims to increase weekly tourism visitors to 10,000

Düzce Mayor Faruk Özlü presented the city's tourism development strategies at the 5th Bursa Tourism Summit. Aiming to transform Düzce into a major Turkish destination, the municipality is working to increase weekly visitor numbers to 10,000.

To address the issue of business travelers staying in neighboring Bolu or Sapanca, the city is currently seeing investments for six brand-name hotels. These developments aim to capture the local economic potential of a city that generates approximately $2.3 billion in annual exports.

Cultural tourism is also a priority, highlighted by the completion of excavations at the Konuralp Ancient City, which revealed an ancient theater capable of seating 10,000 people. Restoration work is expected to follow. Additionally, the city is developing regional tour packages covering the Western Black Sea region, including Düzce, Bolu, Zonguldak, Karabük, Bartın, Kastamonu, and Sinop.
