Düzce Gendarmerie penalizes drivers identified via social media
Traffic police in Düzce have penalized two drivers after they were identified through their own social media posts showcasing dangerous driving behaviors.
In one incident on the Düzce-Akçakoca highway, a driver reached speeds of 207 kilometers per hour and shared the footage online with a caption regarding the distance between the two locations. Following a social media investigation by the Düzce Provincial Gendarmerie Command, the driver was identified, their license was confiscated, and the vehicle was banned from traffic. A judicial investigation has also been launched.
In a separate incident, a driver was caught performing wheelies on a motorcycle on village roads. The Gendarmerie identified the individual through social media footage, determined they were driving without a license, and subsequently issued penalties and impounded the motorcycle.
