Düzce Mayor Özlü threatens to close businesses lacking fire safety

Düzce Mayor Faruk Özlü has announced strict measures regarding fire safety following recent industrial fires in the region. During a visit to the Düzce Fire Department, Özlü stated that businesses failing to implement necessary fire prevention and extinguishing systems will have their commercial activities terminated. He emphasized that while inspections will allow a grace period for compliance, the municipality is committed to shutting down non-compliant establishments to prevent further damage.

In a separate community meeting in the Akınlar neighborhood, Özlü addressed criticisms regarding local infrastructure and asphalt works. He defended the municipality’s ongoing projects, noting that the administration remains active in the field regardless of the election cycle. Local representatives reported that approximately 95 percent of the neighborhood's infrastructure needs have been addressed through current municipal efforts.
