Düzce University hosts conference on forest products standardization

Düzce University's Faculty of Forestry held a conference titled ‘Forest Products Standardization and Storage’ to discuss the legal frameworks, production, and quality control of timber products.

During the event, Eyüp Ünaldı, Operations and Marketing Branch Manager of the Zonguldak Regional Directorate of Forestry, presented data from the last 10 years of production and sales. He noted that beech, fir, and pine are significant species in the region and emphasized the importance of aligning production with market demands.

Forestry Industry Engineer Davut Çebi reported that through regular training, field applications, and strict controls, the ratio of first-class logs in the Zonguldak Regional Directorate of Forestry has risen to approximately 25 percent from previously lower levels. The conference also covered the physical and mechanical properties of roundwood and the technical criteria for classification.
