DZI becomes official insurer for major Bulgarian marathons

DZI, an insurance company with an 80-year history, has entered a three-year partnership to become the official insurer and partner for Bulgaria’s leading mass marathons. The agreement covers major city races in Sofia, Varna, Burgas, and Stara Zagora.

The upcoming long-distance race in Burgas, scheduled for November 15, will be held under the name ‘DZI Marathon Burgas’. Starting in 2027, the regional events in Varna and Stara Zagora will also adopt the company’s branding. Additionally, from 2027, DZI will hold exclusive branding rights for the 10-kilometer distance of the Wizz Air Sofia Marathon.

These events are among the largest sporting activities in the country, with over 15,000 participants annually across the four cities. The Wizz Air Sofia Marathon alone attracts more than 8,000 runners from over 60 countries.
