Dzierżoniów invests nearly 2 million PLN in civil defense and safety
The city of Dzierżoniów is implementing a comprehensive civil defense and population protection program for 2025–2026, involving investments of nearly 2 million PLN. Key initiatives include the installation of energy storage systems at Primary Schools No. 1 and No. 5 through a contract with Sollab Fotowoltaika Sp. z o. o. valued at approximately 400,000 PLN. These schools are designated as emergency shelters, and the new energy systems aim to ensure power continuity during crises.
Other safety measures include a 350,000 PLN modernization of the municipal warning and alarm system and the development of a new logistics warehouse. To test these capabilities, local authorities, including police, fire services, and medical teams, will conduct civil defense exercises near the District Starosty on October 27, simulating evacuation and rescue operations.
Additionally, the city benefits from a long-standing partnership with the Dzierżoniów Remand Prison. In 2026, inmates contributed over 13,500 working hours to various local institutions, generating approximately 400,000 PLN in value. Nearly half of this work was performed directly within Dzierżoniów, supporting organizations such as the Dzierżoniów Cultural Center, the Sports and Recreation Center, the Polish Red Cross, and local medical facilities.
